Dr. Lakshmipathy Ramesh, known as Dr. LPR, is a highly regarded Geriatrician in Chennai with more than two decades of experience in Chennai, specializing in the care of elderly individuals. His approach to geriatric medicine is rooted in a comprehensive and holistic method centered around the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA). Dr. LPR is deeply passionate about educating both his elderly patients and their caregivers, empowering them to make informed healthcare decisions and emphasizing the importance of preventive measures in elderly care.


Dr. LPR's journey in geriatrics began when he played a pivotal role in establishing the Geriatrics department at Amrita Hospital in Kochi, where he recognized the potential of this field as a distinct specialty. Later, in Chennai, he furthered his commitment to geriatric care by founding a Geriatric unit and India's first orthogeriatric unit, along with an evening elderly care clinic. 


Recognizing the growing needs of the elderly population, he co-founded "Gericare Home Services" and later established the "First Senior Citizen Hospital of India," offering a wide range of services, including assisted living, home visits, transitional care, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient clinics.
